If the academic story is strong and the family can document need or merit
The United States can still be the richest aid environment for a small set of undergraduates. It is also the most essay-heavy and the most interview-theatrical at the embassy. Read study in the USA.
If the academic story is strong and the family can pay a taught master’s, the US is a product market. Do not confuse that with a funded PhD.
If the file is a paper file
Canada rewards complete documents more than charm. It punishes programme jumps and unexplained money. It is not automatically easier than the US. It is different. Study in Canada is the long version.
If the only reason for Canada is ‘a cousin said work is easy’, stop. That is not a school list.
If tuition must stay low and time can be long
Germany and some public European tracks can make sense. They want calendars, sometimes a Studienkolleg, sometimes a language, and always proof of means. The Netherlands and France are not ‘cheap Germany’. The UK is rarely the low-tuition option. Start at Europe and open the country page.
Language
English-taught programmes exist across all three theatres. German-taught and French-taught tracks are not English-taught tracks. A family that refuses this sentence will waste a year.
Visa personality
US: short oral interview in Accra, consistency test. Canada: portal, completeness, credibility in writing. UK: funds holding periods and CAS. Germany: national visa and blocked account. Mixing those rituals is how people book the wrong appointment.
A simple filter
Write three numbers: what you can show for year one, the student’s actual grades, and the intake you need. If you cannot write them, you are not choosing a country. You are browsing.
