A Ghanaian master’s application fails most often for a simple reason: the programme does not continue the first degree, and nobody wrote down why. Ranking posters cannot repair that. This guide is the sequence we use before anyone pays a school application fee.
Fit on one page
Write the bachelor’s title, the class of degree, the years, and the master’s you want. If a stranger cannot see the line between them, a committee cannot either. Work experience can be the bridge. A motivational paragraph cannot.
If you need a conversion course or a preparatory year, that is a fact, not a humiliation. Master’s counsel is where we say it early.
Recommendations
Pick people who taught you or managed you. Give them a brief, a deadline, and your statement draft so they do not invent a student they cannot remember. A letter that could belong to anyone belongs to no one.
Tests and evaluations
Some US programmes want GRE or GMAT. Many do not. Canadian and European lists have their own English bars. Credential evaluation (WES and similar) is a calendar item, not a weekend. Order it when the destination is real.
Funding as a constraint
Read master’s funding before you fall in love with a private taught degree. A visa officer will add the gap. So should you.
Visa comes after admission
US F-1, Canadian study permit, UK student visa, German national visa: each wants an admission that already exists. Do not book an embassy date to feel productive. Visas explains how we bill that stretch. $2,500 is due after approval.
Timeline
For a September start, many master’s deadlines live in the previous winter and spring. European public calendars can be earlier than they look. If your degree certificate is still at the university’s registry, start that chase now.
Book a consult with the transcript. We can talk country after we have read it. Choosing among destinations is the comparison if the family is still split.
